Views, wishes and feelings

Children’s / Young People rights

Children / Young People have rights in every aspect of the care they receive in the home. There are various policies and procedures that protect these rights, for example, protection against bullying and abuse, with the rights to be dealt with fairly through the behaviour management policy. The home has also developed an additional policy to protect privacy, dignity and confidentiality.

The home’s policy statement states:

‘The home and staff will respect a child’s wish for privacy, confidentiality, and the maintenance of dignity in manner that is entirely consistent with good parenting and the need to protect the child.’
